Production

Production process

It takes a while to turn a few loose threads into full tights, nylon stockings or leggings. How is it done? Follow the production process.

  1. Step 1 – knitting room
2.5 minutes: that's the time in which classic tights are knitted. This can be 8 minutes for more complex fashion tights. These knitting machines – equipped with 400 needles – are fully computerised.
  2. Step 2 – manufacture and inspection
Classic tights are manufactured with a round seam. For technical and fashion tights, this can be done manually with a flat seam (more comfort). Before colouring, there is another inspection.
  3. Step 3 – process of colouring
Based on the structure of the panty, the colour recipe is determined. For the colouring process, the tights are neatly stacked in drawers that are pushed into a closet. This closet is put under high pressure during the colouring process. This causes the colouring to take place without friction between the tights, which results in improved quality. After 2 washings, an antibacterial treatment and drying with microwaves follow. So without any heat involved.
  4. Step 4 – shaping and packaging
During the steam shaping process, we use high pressure autoclave techniques with multiple drying stations. This benefits the elasticity of the tights and makes them look good. Ready for packaging? The automatic packaging lines ensure that every panty stays in excellent condition.
